the skateboard

Hi guys! this is Shane Everyone... you remember Shane don'tcha? I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before but Shane is my Shanebug. And do you see this photo above? This happened exactly in the order the photos are showing. He picked up his skateboard, jumped on it, flew down a hill, hit some dirt/pebbles/rocks and....made Armstrong history. A broken radius, fractured Ulna, bruised cheek, scraped up shoulder/knee, and sore back later we are so gratfeful this is all we had to get fixed & casted. He was so brave and paced his breathing through the whole thing that it nearly freaked me out. I called my Mom for help, once I realized his arm was broken, and literally the WHOLE family came. God serioulsy has blessed me with angels for family members. We were at the emergency room for about 2 hours and then home. after he crashed he was in so much pain and tears were just rolling down his dirty face... I had to make that poor kid walk home with a broken arm... my heart was breaking.... and there wasn't a cast for that. Because we walk to school, on a frequent basis, I was torn this morning. Do I make him walk with me to take the other kids to school, or do I stay home with him and let the other kids walk to school on their own. I was conflicted... because my options were leaving my 9 year old at home alone or letting my 10 year old and 6 year old (who doesn't like to listen to the 10 year old) walk to school by themselves. I know its not a trip across the Egyptian desert however in my heart it felt like it. So I put the baby in the stroller and walked Seth & Rozzy half way.. and watched them disappear down the street and around the corner. I felt my heart break in a different way that time. They walked right next to each other and held hands. I saw my tall 5th grader hold and protect my 1st grader...and my 1st grader let him. I stood in front of some strangers house and cried as I watched them. Im sure as soon as they turned the corner they called each other profanities and spit on one another.... but for the time I saw them hold hands and take care of each other I was so proud it moved me to tears. ahhhhhhh... crying now.. geezzzzz! I turned around and sprinted home with the stroller to get back to Shane and prayed on my race home thanking God and singing his praises of how much he has blessed me & my family. God knows whats breaking or whats broken and he knows how to fix it everytime.
